Common questions:

Q: I want to make my own ATX/PCIe PSU cables for my PC, what do I need?

  • Measure the length (in centimeters) of the needed wires for your cables by using an old wire, shoelace or similar, routing it the way you want your cables to go. Multiply the result with the number of wires on the specific cable connector. Add 20% to the result and you know how much wire you need in centimeters / meters.
  • You will need ATX connectors with female ATX crimp terminals. On the PSU side, there are usually only ATX connectors (also for PCIe). One the device side, it's also all ATX, except the graphic cards need PCIe  connectors on their end.
  • Only if you want to make extension cables (to extend your existing ATX/PCIe cables), you need ATX housings and the matching male ATX terminals.
