Cable Sleeving
What can I do with cable sleeving?
- You can sleeve cylindrical, oval, square or unevenly shaped objects with cable sleeving, not just cables!
- You need to have one open end on your object to apply the sleeving.

- The sleeving is expandable. Each size can be used for a specific diameter range:
- MICRO size (Diameter range: 1.5 mm to 4.0 mm)
- XTC size (Diameter range: 2.2 mm to 5.0 mm)
- SMALL size (Diameter range: 2.0 mm to 7.8 mm)
- MEDIUM size (Diameter range: 5.0 mm to 14.5 mm)
- BIG size (Diameter range: 12.0 mm to 24.0 mm)

General technical information

- Lead-free base materials and colors: No intoxication at inhalation while heating / melting the sleeving.

- No color degradation when exposed to UV daylight (in contrast to "cotton style" Nylon based material).
- Water repellent, stain resistant and won't absorb liquids (in contrast to "cotton style" Nylon based material).
- Excellent resistance to chemicals like oil, cleaning agents, gasoline and substances like sweat and salt water.
- High abrasion resistance and tensile strength, while still being highly flexible and expandable.
- Self-extinguishing properties (in contrast to Nylon or similar, which could burn quickly).
- Temperature range from -58°C to +155°C.
- Short term temperature peaks of 215°C can be handled without structural degradation.

How to fix the sleeve on the object?
- If the cable sleeve is used at the upper-end of its expansion range, the sleeving will stay in position on the objects by itself.
- If the cable sleeve is used at the lower-end of its expansion range, you should stretch the sleeving lengthwise to make it sit flush on the object. To fix this stretched state in position, you either fix both ends with heatshrink, clamps, cable-ties or similar ... OR melt the sleeving onto the object (the so called "shrink-less method"), as explained in our sleeving guide.
- Quantity advice: If the cable sleeve is used at the upper-end of its expansion range, you need to order almost twice as much cable sleeving. Example: a) The object is 1 meter long. b) The sleeve is used close to its maximum diameter range. c) You should order 2 meters of cable sleeve to cover the object.
Cable-Sleeves SIZE SAMPLES e.003
Each cable sleeve in this SIZE sample pack has a length of at least 45 centimeters (~1.6 foot). In the latest version of this sample pack (v003 on 16th December 2022), we have removed FP-size sleeve. Currently we have 5 sizes of cable sleeves, which are all included in this package: MICRO sleeving for objects from 1.5 mm to 4.0 mm outer-diameter (OD) XTC cable sleeve for objects from 2.2 mm to 5 mm OD SMALL cable sleeving for objects from 2.0 mm to 7.8 mm OD MEDIUM cable sleeves for objects from 5 mm to 14.5 mm OD BIG cable sleeve for objects from 12 mm to 24 mm OD Included in this SIZE (marked with "SIZ") sample pack: MICRO = 1 piece XTC = 1 piece SMALL = 1 piece MEDIUM = 1 piece BIG = 1 piece Advice on size identification: Make sure to read the category description of each size to get a full understanding about the diameter range of each size. MICRO is by far the smallest sleeve. XTC and SMALL have a very similar size, but a difference in weave density. XTC looks denser than SMALL, feels "harder" and looks more "matte" due to the smaller areas of reflection. MEDIUM is bigger than XTC and SMALL. BIG is obviously the biggest sleeve. Blackest-Black Sleeving MICRO
Blackest-Black sleeving is the darkest black for your black custom cables. Blackest-Black MICRO sleeving for diameters from 1.5 mm to 4.0 mm. On very short distances, you can move it over 4.5 mm diameters obstacles.The offered lengths of Blackest-Black MICRO sleeving are based on meters (m). 1 m is ~3.3 feet, 10 m is ~33 feet, etc.If you need 100 meter (330 ft) units of Blackest-Black MICRO sleeving, please use the separate offering in the 100 meter category. We recommend to use MICRO sleeving on wires of at least 1.6 mm diameter, like our EXTREME 17-AWG wire or regular 17-AWG wire. If you want to work with our very small 1.3 mm 23-AWG wires, you should bundle 2 of them in one MICRO sleeve. MICRO sleeving is also a great option for people who want to sleeve in 2 layers, having the MICRO sleeve on top of something else for nice effects, because of its unique weave structure. We recommend to use MICRO heat-shrink to hold the cable sleeve in place by using the "heatshrink-less" melting technique.
